While the forthcoming v. 3.0 of Bolt action rules has posed a lot of unknowns, one thing we do know from WLGs posts is that templates are remaining as a game mechanic.

With that in mind, I have posted a simple .stl design that allows players to string a link of 1” HE templates, to permit a linked chain to represent multiple HE hits (as per page 70 in the v 2.0 book). While marking two linked hits for a single auto cannon is easily done with the standard template, once you have two, three or four barreled auto cannons in the mix, it would be difficult to accurately mark the linked hits on a large unit.

This .stl is an easy print in FDM, a tapered post and recess are at the end of the piece, this allows the link to be flipped and mounted to the next one. The chain will adhere with the friction fit but the taper will allow parts to be separated easily. Obviously, the tapered posts and recess only works one way, and the chain can be made to any length required.
