Carden-Loyd Carrier Mk.VI (15mm)

This little carrier was developed as a private venture by Carden-Loyd before they were bought out by Vickers. It was used in a variety of roles, including as a light anti-tank artillery tow, but this one is its Vickers machine-gun carrier function. The Vickers could be fired from the vehicle, but it really was intended to carry the gun to an emplacement point and then dismount it.

It was obsolescent by WWII, but a number of them were brought back into service after Dunkirk to provide a temporary replacement for the many more modern carriers that had been lost in France.
