I design primarily for the Interwar and WWII periods, and in 1:100 scale for 15mm gaming.
These days I print models almost exclusively in resin, but wherever it is feasible I design with tolerances suitable for FDM as well.

This model of the German DFS-230 assault glider is modelled in 1:144 scale. For a 1:100 (15mm) scale model it needs to be scaled to 144%, and for a 1/72 scale model (20mm) to 200%.
Provided in the zip file are a one-piece model, and two split-up versions to ease FDM printing. There is also a separate set of take-off wheels; they were usually jettisoned in flight and landing carried out on the belly-skid, but if the proposed landing site was smooth enough (e.g. a captured airfield) they could be left on during flight.
The two-piece split is very straightforward to assemble: there are locating sockets in which short pieces of filament can be placed to ease alignment. It gives good printing results on the wings and tailplanes, but layer lines are much more apparent on the fuselage.
The five-piece split is more involved in assembly, but gives smoother printing results overall.
I design primarily for the Interwar and WWII periods, and in 1:100 scale for 15mm gaming.
These days I print models almost exclusively in resin, but wherever it is feasible I design with tolerances suitable for FDM as well.
