This listing focuses on the early version of the British 6 pdr 57mm Anti-Tank Gun. You will receive files sufficient to print the gun in a number of ways:
- Deployed, breach closed for firing, gun sight cover open.
- Deployed, breach open for loading, gun sight cover open.
- Towed version. Trail legs closed and secured. Hand breaks for the road wheels not applied. Gun sight cover closed. Ready ammo removed from behind shield.
I have included some pre-supported versions of the main parts. The supports tend to come away from the main carriage in one piece, see the screen shot image for detail. Those under the main shield and gun need to be removed separately. Take care removing the support material from around the elevation wheel. This can be tricky so a file for a repair piece has been included. There are many thin and detailed parts on the gun so patience when you clean the print supports away. Hand breaks, levers near the breach, the open gun sight cover, the elevation wheel, the handle grips on the trail arms, the locking army in the open position to secure the trail legs together are all delicate. I have had to clean dozens of these prints for Ebay sales and they can all be cleaned safely with a sharp knife and a steady patient application of pressure.
The model is also enhanced by files offering you an open and closed ammunition case.
Each gun will generally need the files for:
- Road wheels
- Main Carriage
- Gun and Main Gun shield.
- Front Gun Shield.
- Elevation Wheel Repair. Always include this in your printing, adds only a few mins but stops your cursing if you have mishap when cleaning supports.
Depending on which variant of the gun you are printing you will need to choose the appropriate Front Shield. Deployed or Towed.
A total of 16 files are included.
I will be offering the Later Version of the 6 pdr as a separate listing and if you want both there will be an option to buy both early and late guns together in one package at a slightly cheaper combined price.
DO NOT rescale these files down to 1/72 or 1/100 they wont give a reliable outcome I will investigate producing “hardened” files for those scales.
You can confidently enlarge these files up to 1/28th scale as this was the scale at which I originally did the design work.
This model was designed by Neal Bowskill Copyright April 2021. No printing of these files for commercial gain is permitted.
