200mm (8inch) Wooden Rocket Launcher

$2.50

Improvised launchers like these were used by Japanese forces late in the Pacific campaign, notably on Iwo Jima. While they were somewhat crude and likely made in the field, they fired the 200mm/8 inch naval rocket, made by fitting a spin stabilized rocket motor to a 200mm shell. This devastating weapon had a range of approximately two kilometers. While intended to be fired from a carriage mounted launch tube, makeshift launchers such as this would have provided an alternative to isolated and undersupplied island garrisons.

This model is based off of an example used by Japanese troops on Iwo Jima, though it would not be out of place in any late war Japanese force.

Included are STL files for launcher and 200mm rocket

28mm size, though could be scaled by user.

Tested on and intended for an FDM printer, though Resin printers should also provide great results.
