USN Farragut Class Destroyer

The Farragut class destroyers were a class of 8 ships. Built in 1932 ~ 1935.

The Farraguts were the first port-WW1 USN DD designs and an considerable improvement compared to the “four-stackers”

As built;

5 x 5 inch (127 mm)/38 caliber guns, 4 x .50 caliber machine guns, 8 21-inch (533 mm) torpedo tubes (4 x 4)

After the upgrades in 1942 ~ 1943;

4 x 5 inch (127 mm)/38 caliber guns, 4 x 40 mm Bofor guns (2 x 2), 8 x 21-inch (533 mm) torpedo tubes (2 x 4), 4 x K-gun depth charge throwers and 2 depth charge racks.

Both versions are provided as 3D printable models.

No ship was lost in battle during WW2, but 2 ships were lost due Typhoon Cobra in Dec 1944 and 1 was grounded near Alaska in Jan 1943.
