Type 2 Ka-Mi Amphibious Tank

$15.00

The Type 2 Ka-Mi was a unique amphibious tank utilized by the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. Introduced in 1942, it was designed to support Japanese amphibious operations in the Pacific theater. The tank featured a distinctive pontoon on each end, providing buoyancy for water crossings. Equipped with a 37mm Type 1 gun and a 7.7mm machine gun, the Type 2 Ka-Mi had firepower suitable for engaging both infantry and light armored targets. Its amphibious capability allowed it to be deployed directly from landing craft. However, the Ka-Mi faced limitations, such as relatively thin armor and a moderate top speed on land. Despite these drawbacks, it played a role in various Pacific island campaigns during World War II.
