The 2S1 Gvozdika was based on the MT-LBu chassis (other derivatives will shortly be available), and was a versatile, amphibious vehicle widely used by the Russian and Eastern European armies in the last quarter of the 20th century. It was deployed in large numbers and used a 122m howitzer based on the towed D-30 weapon. Two designs are provided, one split into parts for printing on an fdm printer, and a hollow, integrated version for resin printing. In both cases a separate turret is provided. The fdm turret has a separate gun, that for the resin version is fixed, but the fdm turret can be used if desired.
An additional file has been added on 28 March 2021. This is optimised for wargaming, with revised hulls and turrets to permit the installation of magnets to control rotation of the turret. Versions of the turret with open and closed commander’s hatch, and with a separate gun barrel to permit positioning at the desired elevation, are now provided. Variants for fdm and resin printers are included, with separate tracks and hull for the former.
An improved gun barrel has been added in a separate file, following feedback of issues in printing this component on resin printers. This appears to have cured the issue (29 March 2021)
The product is offered for personal, non-commercial use. Derivative designs for personal use may be generated, but neither the original nor derivatives may be shared with others. Attribution of the design is requested should printed models be exhibited or otherwise shared. Models printed from this design or derivatives may not be sold commercially.
