Originally built as Mount Savage in 1853, she was renamed to USS Memphis in 1857 and chartered by the Navy to travel in the Paraguay Expedition of 1858/59. Officially purchased after the expedition in 1859, she was renamed to USS Mystic. in 1860, she was sent to patrol off the coast of Africa where she captured two slave ships. Upon the outbreak of the Civil War, she was called home and assisted in blockading the Atlantic coast. She was present in the Chesapeake Bay blockade during the Battle of Hampton Roads, although the did not directly participate. She would go on to assist in the capture of four Confederate blockade runners off the North Carolina coast. She would continue to blockade around the Chesapeake Bay for the duration of the war. She was sold to private owners in 1865, renamed again, and disappeared from any merchant registers in 1868.
This ship is modeled in 1/600 scale and can be printed using any resin or FDM printer. Ship comes with and without base.
When printing in FDM, some details may be too small to print with a stock 0.4mm nozzle.
