The Stormer APC was initially developed by FVRDE and exploited by Alvis as a modernised and enlarged development of the Scorpion series of aluminium AFVs (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alvis_Stormer and https://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/europe/stormer.htm). The chassis is lengthened to incorporate an extra road wheel, and the spacing of the wheels is adjusted. The hull is widened to provide more internal volume, and a range of derivatives have emerged to form the Stormer family. Models of several other variants will be offered in due course.
This family of AFVs is extensively used by Indonesia, Malaysia, and the British Army uses a variant as the carrier for its Starstreak anti-aircraft missile system (available separately). It is well suited to operations in the Far East as it is a compact and manoeuvrable vehicle, with an adequate level of protection.
The model is provided as four parts, a main hull with a rear panel and two track assemblies. The track elements should be printed with the axles vertically oriented, and supports only from the base to avoid excessive support generation. Care needs to be taken in removing supports around the tracks, as these are quite detailed and somewhat delicate. However, it results in an attractive model.
