The PTS-10, also known as the PTS-M, is an amphibious vehicle of Soviet origin. It was developed in the early 1960’s as a replacement for the earlier K-61 amphibious vehicle. The PTS is based on the chassis of the ATS-59 artillery tractor and has a boat like hull. The crew compartment is located at the front and provides seating for the driver and commander. The rest of the vehicle is the cargo area which is loaded using the ramp at the rear. The engine is located in the middle and powers both the tracks and the two propellers. The PTS is mostly used for river crossing, but can be used for landing troops in a coastal salt water setting.
Two designs are provided, an integrated one (hollow) for resin printing, and one in parts for fdm printing. Two variants of the vehicle are provided, one open and one with a tilt. The fdm version has separate tracks, and the roof of the crew compartment is provided as a separate item to ease printing. Different crew compartment roofs are provided, one for the open version, and one for the tilted variant.
The separate tracks are best printed with the inside face flat on the printer platform. The main hull can be printed at a variety of angles to suit personal preference.
I have updated the design, as I found that the rear angles were incorrect, and the front cab was a bit short, on discovering some additional drawings of this vehicle. Both resin and fdm files have been updated. I am unable to print the resin files directly, but a colleague in Holland has printed them successfully, with minor changes, as he prints in a smaller scale. The cab top in the fdm version may need some fitting, as it slips in under the canvas top, and any supports in this area need to be carefully removed.
The product is offered for personal, non-commercial use. Derivative designs for personal use may be generated, but neither the original nor derivatives may be shared with others. Attribution of the design is requested should printed models be exhibited or otherwise shared. Models printed from this design or derivatives may not be sold commercially.
