The Carro Veloce 35, later renamed L3/35, was the most widespread light tank in the ranks of the Regio Esercito (the italian army) at the outbreak of the Second World War. Derived from the Carden-Loyd Mk VI tankette, and armed with two Fiat Mod. 14/35 8 mm machine guns, it was used in Ethiopia and during the Spanish Civil War, where on some vehicles the armament was enhanced with the installation of a 20 mm Solothurn anti-tank rifle. During the World War it was used to a large extent in the Libyan theater, in Greece and Yugoslavia. Although it was largely outdated, after September the 8th 1943, when Italy surrendered to the Allies, L3 was still employed by the units of the Repubblica sociale (the pro-Axis government that ruled in the northern part of Italy) in anti-partisan missions. In total, over 2000 L3s were produced in the different versions.
The model is in 1/100 scale (15 mm). Once printed it measures 3.2 cm lenght, 1.4 width and 1.3 height. It’s made in four parts, the upper and lower hull, the left and right tracks. I recommend using a Resin printer. The images of the actual model in the photo gallery refer to some examples printed with an Elegoo Mars 3. The model has been designed with the maximum attention to historical accuracy: you can’t find another L3 with the same quality and details at this scale.
