KrAZ-255 12-ton truck
1:100 model of Soviet KrAZ-255 cross-country truck (updated)
The KrAZ-255 12-ton truck entered service in 1967, and is a high-mobility heavy truck that has seen widespread use in many Eastern block countries. It is designed to transport heavy items of equipment in difficult terrain, and exploits a new, wide-profile wheel and tyre system that was specially developed for the purpose. The model is provided with a base chassis, separate cab and spare wheel assembly, and a choice of open or closed cargo bay. Sided wheels are provided, which differ between front and rear. The spare wheel assembly should be positioned first, and the cab (open and solid versions are provided, in two parts to permit vertical printing) then fitted. The selected cargo bay and wheels can then be assembled. The axles and wheels may require some filing to allow for challenges with the FDM printing technology.
I have now updated the file to include a more detailed model suitable for resin printing (integrated), in open and tilted variants. If required, I can make this version available as separate components for fdm printing.
The product is offered for personal, non-commercial use. Derivative designs for personal use may be generated, but neither the original nor derivatives may be shared with others. Attribution of the design is requested should printed models be exhibited or otherwise shared. Models printed from this design or derivatives may not be sold commercially.
A number of variants will be offered as separate products in due course.
