Pereh missile tank (Israel)
This is a 1:100 model of the interesting Israeli Pereh missile armed tank that was designed to provide long-range anti-tank and general cover using the Spike NLOS missile. It is based on the US M48A2 chassis (separate design of the MBT also offered). Versions suitable for fdm and resin printers are offered, with a separate rotating turret.
The Pereh is a tank destroyer of Israeli origin that was used from 1981 until recently. It is a unique weapon system disguised as a regular tank, with the barrel being a dummy for disguise. The armament consists of Spike missiles developed for use beyond line of sight. Information on this system remains scarce, so some measurements have been estimated from the available photographs.
The Pereh is armed with the Spike-NLOS missile, known as Tamuz in Israeli service. This missile features optical guidance and can be used in both direct and indirect fire mode. In the indirect fire mode the operator controls the missile and engages the target based on the television feed recorded by the camera in the nose of the missile. A total of twelve missiles are carried in the rear bustle of the enlarged turret. The maximum range of the Spike-NLOS is reported as 25 km.
The design is provided in two versions, one suitable for fdm printing, and a second more suitable for resin printing. The former has separate hull and track assemblies, keyed to each other. The resin version has integrated hull and turret elements, but these are separate to permit rotation of the turret. Solid and hollow hulls are provided to suit resin printing preferences. The fdm version may require small adjustment of the track assemblies to be able to fit comfortably in the hull piece, but this should be minimal.
The product is offered for personal, non-commercial use. Derivative designs for personal use may be generated, but neither the original nor derivatives may be shared with others. Attribution of the design is requested should printed models be exhibited or otherwise shared. Models printed from this design or derivatives may not be sold commercially.
