Panzer IV AusF F1/F2

The Panzer IV AusF F came in two variants, the F1 and F2. The Panzer IV F1 featured the same short barreled 75mm KwK37 L/24 cannon found on earlier Panzer IV versions and was used in the infantry support role. As it was found that the Panzer III's 50mm cannon was inadequate but mounting a long barreled 75mm was not feasible, the Panzer IV F2 was up gunned to the longer barreled 75mm KwK40 L/43 cannon, which featured significantly improved penetration power, able to deal with the majority of contemporary allied tanks. The armor on the vehicle was not particularly impressive at 50mm thick, but was adequate for deflecting some munitions at range.

In Armored Advance:
Since the Panzer IV F comes in two flavors with different roles, a single description would be insufficient. Both vehicles share adequate armor and mobility statistics but differ greatly in their use cases.

Panzer IV F1:
This vehicle is designed with infantry support in mind, being able to engage infantry units with high explosive shells which make it a more potent damage dealer to such units, as well as having the ability to cause increased damage to lighter equipment. The vehicle is not particularly effective in the anti-tank role however.

Panzer IV F2:
In contrast to the F1, the F2 features a potent anti-tank weapon with decent damage and penetration power, making it capable of engaging many enemy vehicles it may see. This does come at the cost of not being able to engage infantry or light vehicles as effectively, as well as requiring an increased requisition investment to field.
