Daimler Armored Car

  • Description
  • Files
The Daimler Armored Car was an armored car developed by the British during World War 2. The vehicle was used principally for reconnaissance by Commonwealth forces. The 40mm 2-pdr cannon was insufficient for engaging enemy armor frontally but could be used against the side or rear of some Axis tanks. The Daimler featured very limited armor protection; however, this allowed it to move quite rapidly, with a top speed of around 80 km/h.

In Armored Advance:
The Daimler features a relatively weak cannon as well as light armor, making it ill-suited for engaging enemy units. Where it excels is its ability to move around the board quickly and scout for other units on its team, allowing them to hit more reliably. The vehicle is able to deal with lighter opposition such as MG armed halftracks and the like, so using it to intercept troop deployments is feasible. However, even 20mm autocannons will shred the Daimler, so it must be played cautiously.

This 1/72 scale model of the Daimler seeks to provide a detailed representation of the vehicle for tabletop wargaming without sacrificing structural integrity or durability. The model comes hollow and is designed for resin printing.
