Saracen APC (British FV603)

The FV603 Saracen is a six-wheeled armoured personnel carrier used by several nations.  This is a detailed 1:100 model in versions suitable for printing on resin or filament printers.

The FV603 Saracen was the armoured personnel carrier developed in Britain after WW2 as part of Alvis's FV600 series.  It had a core crew of two, the driver and commander, and normally carried a squad of eight soldiers plus a troop commander. It was usually fitted with a small turret on the roof, carrying a Browning .30 machine gun. A .303 Bren gun could be mounted on an anti-aircraft ring-mount accessed through a roof hatch and there were ports on the sides through which troops could fire. Although removed from active service when it was replaced by the FV432 (separate model available) it saw extensive use into the 1980s in Northern Ireland.

The model is a well detailed design, provided in two versions, one for resin printing, which is integrated with its wheels.  Variants in both hollow and solid versions are provided to suit personal preferences. A second solid hull is provided without wheels for printing on fdm systems, with the wheels provided as a separate file.  A separate turret is provided to ease printing and permit rotation.  The Bren LMG (option) is provided as a separate part, but may be challenging to print, as it is small.

The product is offered for personal, non-commercial use.  Derivative designs for personal use may be generated, but neither the original nor derivatives may be shared with others.  Attribution of the design is requested should printed models be exhibited or otherwise shared.  Models printed from this design or derivatives may not be sold commercially.
