OT-64 SKOT APC and variants

This is a range of detailed 1:100 model designs of the different core variants of the  OT-64 SKOT (Czech acronym for: Střední Kolový Obrněný Transportér, and/or Polish Średni Kołowy Opancerzony Transporter – medium wheeled armoured transporter), an amphibious armored personnel carrier (8x8), developed jointly by Polish People's Republic (PRL) and Czechoslovakia (ČSSR) well into the 1960s.  Some 4500 were produced, including about a third that were exported.  Variants A, B and C are included in versions for fdm or resin printing. As a bonus, the SKOT-2AM version fitted with ATGMs is provided.

This vehicle was developed to exploit manufacturing and design capability, and to correct significant problems with the Russian BTR-60 APC.  The OT-64's engine, transmission, suspension and axles were produced in Czechoslovakia. The engine was produced by Tatra.  Armoured hulls and turrets, elements of the suspension system and on-board armaments were manufactured in Poland.

OT-64 SKOT entered service with Polish and Czechoslovak armies in 1963. It was produced until the early 1970s. It is still in service in Poland and Slovakia.  Czech units were replaced in 2006 by new armoured vehicles Pandur II CZ (future model).

During the 1990s, Slovakia purchased hundreds of these units from the Czech Republic (150 in 1994, 100 in 1998). Slovaks then sold them to mainly African countries. The OT-64 SKOT was exported to eleven countries. The total number of vehicles produced was 4,500.

Three models are included, the A, B, and C variants.  The C variant mounts a turret taken from the BRDM armoured car.  Versions with integrated wheels suitable for resin printing are provided (both solid and hollow), as are wheelless hulls for fdm printing.  Separate wheels are provided for use with the fdm version.  A common turret is provided for use with either type of printer on the C variant.

The vehicle is relatively simple so should not present any major printing challenges.  The underside is relatively well modelled for realism.  A  version with mounted ATGMs (SKOT-2AM) is also provided.

The product is offered for personal, non-commercial use.  Derivative designs for personal use may be generated, but neither the original nor derivatives may be shared with others.  Attribution of the design is requested should printed models be exhibited or otherwise shared.  Models printed from this design or derivatives may not be sold commercially.
