AMX-30B2 turret
An alternative free upgrade turret for the French AMX-30 MBT 1:100 design (available separately on this site). This enhanced the fighting capability of this interesting light and mobile MBT.
This is an alternative turret to permit modelling of the B2 variant on the existing AMX-30 design (see separate entry).
The AMX-30 received a new stabilization gun system in the early 1970s and in 1979, a major upgrade was introduced under the designation of AMX-30B2.
The AMX-30B2 main upgrades included:
• New Fire Control System
• Improved gun mantlet
• Upgraded engine
• Improved suspension
• New APFSDS ammunition
The only visible difference was in the turret, and this upgrade provides the required changes. The design is suitable for printing on both resin and fdm printers, with some care with the side MG in the latter case. Two versions are provided, one with and one without the side rails in case these make printing too difficult.
The product is offered for personal, non-commercial use. Derivative designs for personal use may be generated, but neither the original nor derivatives may be shared with others. Attribution of the design is requested should printed models be exhibited or otherwise shared. Models printed from this design or derivatives may not be sold commercially.
