Pallas class French frigate (40 gun) 1808-1883
Pallas-class French 40 gun frigate designed by engineer Jacques-Noël Sané as an evolution of his previous Hortense-class frigate.
A series of 54 ships ordered and built from 1807 to 1832
For a list of the ships built see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pallas-class_frigate_(1808)
Version 1 (23/07/2021) - Includes models for two different deck/stern layouts. Each model also includes both a high and low hull version. The high hull will better match other ship manufacture models and allow bases with wavy/rough sea conditions to better fit the model. The low version is better suited to a glass sea.
The ship hull and shape was built using various plans. The hull under the waterline was then removed and the upper parts were simplified in detail at the bow, thickened in the stern, windows exaggerated, and deck detail exaggerated. All this to be able to print out at 1:700 (and larger) scales. Smaller scales are possible but would likely require a resin printer for the best results.
Contains:
The sails are of a generic 5th rate size and are usable with other published 5th rate ships. Does not include the ratlines, flags or rigging string.
For assembly of the FDM bowsprit, please see the photos on the Intrepid-class 64 gun model (on this site) showing the bowsprit parts and mizzen (rear sail parts) being assembled.
