Marinefahrprahme - German Landing Craft

The Marinefahrprahm (MFP, naval ferry barge) was a German Landing Craft used during World War II. A total of about 700 had been build by the end of the war.

The MFP has been used for different roles; transport, minelaying, escort and gunboat in most of the European theaters of war, like the Mediterranean, Baltic, The Black Sea, English Channel and the Norwegian coastal waters. The main reason for design was to support Operation Sea Lion.

The model is a waterline-mode and the inner-deck has been raised a bit so it can be printed. The 1/100 model can be printed using PLA. But some of the smaller parts, like the guns do require a Resin printer.

The models has some options.

  • 88 mm Main gun or 75 mm Main gun.

  • 1 or 2  x Flak-38 2 cm Guns. (2 versions - 1 gun horizontal / 1 gun at about 45 degree angle)

  • Doors or panels at the side of the ship.

Dimensions L - 46.8 cm, W - 6.6 cm, H 8 cm

Be aware that the gun deck mounts are separate pieces, one part needs to be glued on the deck. The gun-mounts itself do not need to be glued, so they can rotate if needed. The 88mm and 75mm cannot be switched, you need to select the version and glue the base mount on the deck.

The printed on a Creality Ender 5, standard PLA layer 0.20mm. And the resin parts have been printed on Anycubic Mono SE standard Resin layer 0.05mm. I have included some supported files for the parts I test-printed in resin, feel free to use. But might be best to create your own supported files, as these worked for me, no guarantee they will work for you.
