Deweycat Italian Semovente 90/53 in 28mm scale

There is an adage often heard in old Western “B” movies - “Never bring a knife to a gunfight”. Wise words in the Wild West, but also in Bolt Action gaming. If you are bringing Italians to the table, you know too well that the best you gun you can bring in a turreted tank is a light anti-tank gun, which is the equivalent of a butter knife when playing Tank Wars.

But there are options. One is the Semovente 90/53; a 90mm Super Heavy AT gun mounted on the modified chassis of an M14/41 tank. The Semovente 90/53 was produced in 1942, to address the inadequacies of Italian mobile AT weaponry. It was used by both the Italians, resisting the Allies in Sicily in July 1943, and later, post Italian capitulation, with the German army.

In Bolt Action, the vehicle is “open topped” and given a 7+ armour rating. But it does have the potent Super Heavy AT gun, pen of +7, with its 3” HE template. The Semovente 90/53 can reach out across the table and hurt anything that comes into its LOS.

This new .stl pack includes files specifically for resin and FDM printing. The resin files include the basic file plus pre-supported and a hollowed hull .stls. The resin files also have two gunner figures that are seated on either wise of the gun. The FDM files have a thicker gun barrel, and reduced detail on the gun mount, to facilitate successful FDM printing. Both prints are in the photos.
