Deweycat 28mm Earthworks/Trenches/Bunkers/Sea Wall .stl pack
A while ago I was asked by two different BA gamers if I could do up a terrain package; one was seeking a Sea Wall system, which could represent the one faced by the USMC in their landings at Tarawa. The other was looking for a system to represent a string of entrenchments able to cross the entire game table, as specified in Scenario 17 of the Stalingrad book.
I worked out a system of interlocking pieces that allow a player to build a sea wall, or an earthworks defensive wall (used where the ground does not allow trenches, due to high water table, rocky terrain etc.), or when used in a doubled-up manner, a complete trench system.
I added 45- and 90-degree corners, damaged sections, end sections, and both open gun emplacements and a bunker with a timber roof. As the Sea wall has the logs facing out and the entrenchments have the logs inward, there are separate files for the Sea Wall bunker and gun emplacement compared to the regular entrenchments. All of the other pieces can be turned to what ever use you want to employ them. Each piece fits to the next with a male/female connection.
The pieces in the photos show the models printed in their offered form (FDM at a .3 mm layer height). The coarse printing doesn't affect the visual after priming, painting and flocking.
The photos show the Sea Wall bunker and the regular gun emplacement. They also demonstrate how the pieces can be used to represent a complete two-sided trench, with a variable width.
These were all printed in FDM is a coarse setting, with supports from base plate only. Some minor fitting and trimming may be necessary post print.
If you have any questions please email me directly at [email protected].
thanks
