Brinio class gunboat

The Brinio class (or Gruno class) was a class of three gunboats of the Netherlands Royal Navy. Build in the early 1910's and all served in the World War 2.

Hr.Ms. Brinio. Scuttled 14th May 1940.

Hr.Ms. Friso. Damaged and sunk after German air attack 12th May 1940.

Hr.Ms. Gruno. Escaped to the UK, used as patrol-vessel in the Theems and after November 1942 used as an escort vessel. She survived WW2 and was decommissioned in January 1950.

4 versions included (each version comes in a setup with one or two sloops)

• As build. With four 10.5 cm Guns and two machine guns.


• The aft Machine gun replaced by a twin 12.7 mm Machine gun on the aft-deck house.


• The aft Machine gun replaced by a single 40mm Bofor gun on the aft-deck-house.


• Front and aft machine guns replaced by single 40mm Bofor guns.

It was difficult to find historical data on the weapons setup, so with the four (eight) versions you should be able to print the model you need. Although the machine guns are very small and the difference might be hard to see in 1/1800-scale.

The models are provided in 1/1000 scale and are Resin print only.

1/1800 – resize to 55,56%

1/1200 – resize to 83,5%

Named bases base are provided. Text recessed and the raised. I used the recessed version for FDM printed bases. Finally a base without text. Do not forget to also re-scale the bases if you print in 1/1200 or 1/1800 scale.

Included 1/1800 scale pre-supported models for three different version, which I used for the test-prints on my Anycubic Mono SE (0.05mm layer) using standard resin. Use at your own risk, might be best you create your own supported files, which prints best on you own printer. Some parts are rather delicate, mainly the gun barrels, and you will need to remove support carefully.

The base was printed on an Ender 5 pro (0.16 mm layer) standard PLA. But feel free to print the bases on a resin printer, that will give you much better text on the base, but no supported files for the resin-printing of the bases.
