USS Minnesota

Saved from destruction by USS Monitor!

USS Minnesota was one of the largest and most heavily armed ships in the Union navy. She served in East Asia for a short time and returned when the Civil War erupted. She was put on blockade duty in Hampton Roads, and raced to assist Cumberland and Congress as they were attacked by CSS Virginia. She ran aground and could only look on helplessly for the rest of the battle. She later took part in the bombardment of Fort Fisher in 1865. When she was broken up, many of her metal fittings were used in the next Minnesota, BB22.

From this model you can create all five of the Merrimack-class steam frigates.

This ship is modeled in 1/600 scale and can be printed using any resin or FDM printer. Ship comes with and without base.
