Caledon Class Cruisers pre-1943
The Caledon Class light cruisers was part of the C class cruisers which were a class of 28 light cruisers of the Royal Navy and consisted of seven groups of sub-classes. The Caledon Class was a group of 4 ships build during the first world war. One ships was sunk in WW1 the other three ships saw action in WW2.
Armament as build; five 6-inch guns, two 3-inch guns, two 2-punder guns and eight 21-inch torpedo-tubes (4 x 2)
HMS Caledon, rebuild as AA-ship in 1943, decommissioned 1948. (The AA-version is NOT included)
HMS Calypso, sunk June 1940 by Italian submarine.
HMS Cassandra, sunk by Mine in the Baltic December 1918.
HMS Caradoc, became a base ship in 1944 and decommissioned in 1946.
This set includes the options for printing all 4 ships of the class, but not the AA-version of the HMS Caledon.
The models are provided in 1/1000 scale and are Resin test-printed only.
1/1800 - resize to 55,56%
1/1200 - resize to 83,5%
There are a number of bases provided, text recessed and the text raised. I used the recessed version for FDM printed bases. Do not forget to also re-scale the bases if you print in 1/1200 or 1/1800 scale. Named bases provided for all four ships in class and a base with class name.
Also included 1/1800 scale pre-supported models which I used for the test-prints on my Anycubic Mono SE (0.05mm layer) using standard resin. Use at your own risk, might be best you create your own supported files, which prints best on you own printer. Some parts are rather delicate, mainly the gun barrels, and you will need to remove support carefully.
The flat-base was printed on an Ender 5 pro (0.16 mm layer) standard PLA. But could also be printed in Resin if you want, which will provide a better print compared to my PLA printed bases. (no supported file provided)
