Siebel Ferry SF40

The SF40 variant of the Siebel Ferry - light flak and transport versions.

The Siebel Ferry was originally designed for Operation Sealion, the proposed amphibious invasion of Britain. It was a rush job, and was actually constructed from two heavy bridging pontoons connected by steel girders.

Although the operation they were designed for never took place, Siebel Ferries went on to fulfill a number of roles throughout the war. They were used as transports, flak ships, gunboats, convoy escorts and minelayers.

The files included are:

Siebel Ferry 40 - Flak - armed: the Siebel with armaments in place - 4 quad 20mms and a 37mm gun

Siebel Ferry 40 - Flak: the same model with the guns removed for separate printing

Siebel Ferry 40 - Transport: the transport version of the same ferry. It is not armed.

3.7 cm M42 on LM42U Mount: The 37mm flak gun that goes on the middle platform

20mm Flak Gun on Quad Mount - Raised: The quad 20mms. One goes in each of the corner platforms.
