Object 279 Painting Jig

Fixtures for holding the hull and turret of my 1:285 scale model of Object 279.

All tanks in my collection have standardised turret ring sizes, such that all tanks in the same weight class have interchangeable turrets.  Because of this, all tanks of the same weight class will fit on the same painting fixture.  Object 279 is the only current exception in my collection, and I don't even offer the file for sale yet - you will have to buy the model either from my website or my Shapeways shop.  These fixtures also keep paint off the mating surfaces of the turret and hull, so that they will still fit, regardless of how thick the paint ends up being.  I go into more detail in a Hive post about the design process.
