Hr.Ms.Z5

Hr.Ms. Z5 was a Royal Netherlands Navy Z-class Torpedo boat. During the German attack on The Netherlands 10th May, Z5 was ordered to attack the German positions in Rotterdam, hitting multiple MG-nest and German Float planes with her two 75mm Guns and her two 12.7 mm Machine guns. She sailed to the UK 14th of May to avoid capture by the Germans. She served in the British Navy as HMS Z5 and was renamed to HMS Blade.

She survived WW2, and was stricken on April 1945 and scrapped Dec 1945.

Two versions included.

  1. As Build. Armed with four torpedo-tubes and two 75mm Guns.

  2. After the rebuild. All torpedo tubes removed, aft-deck house added with a twin 12.7mm Machine-gun setup on the roof of the aft-deck-house. Front deck extended up to the bridge-house.

The model is provided in 1/1000 scale and is Resin print only.

1/1800 – resize to 55,56%

1/1200 – resize to 83,5%

There are two different bases provided. Text recessed and the raised. I used the recessed version for FDM printed bases. Finally a base without text is also included. Do not forget to also re-scale the bases if you print in 1/1200 or 1/1800 scale.

Also included a 1/1800 scale pre-supported model version 2, which I used for the test-prints on my Anycubic Mono SE (0.05mm layer) using standard resin. Use at your own risk, might be best you create your own supported files, which prints best on you own printer. Some parts are rather delicate, mainly the gun barrels, and you will need to remove support carefully.

The base was printed on an Ender 5 pro (0.16 mm layer) standard PLA, but feel free to print the Base with a Resin-print, that will give much better text quality.
