In 1785, HMS Majestic was launched as a 74-gun Canada-class ship of the line. As a 74, saw service at the Glorious First of June and the Battle of the Nile.
Following the outbreak of the War of 1812, she was refitted as a 58-gun Fourth-Rate and sent to the Americas, where she famously took part in the action against USS President, a sister ship of the USS Constitution.
