The Ferret scout car was developed into an improved product featuring bigger wheels and strengthened suspension ( http://www.tanks-encyclopedia.com/coldwar/UK/Daimler_Ferret ). This provided better cross-country performance, and the Mk3 product (equivalent to the Mk1 with larger wheels) resulted. However, only small numbers of this version were built, with the Mk4 (equivalent to the earlier Mk2) providing the bulk of the production. River crossing capability was added by the provision of a flotation screen, but this was sometimes removed in service. A further variant, the Mk5 was developed as an interim tank destroyer using the Swingfire missile, and was deployed in reasonable numbers, particularly in support of airborne forces.
This product offers the Ferret scout car (big wheels) in both Mk4 and Mk5 versions, with a variant of the latter without bins as later used in airborne units. Turrets for both are provided, and separate hulls, as the Mk5 has spare Swingfire missiles mounted over the wheel covers. Again, MG barrels should be added from thin wire, and aerials if desired. The larger diameter wheels are provided, but only four should be printed as a spare was not carried on these versions. Printing is best at 0.1mm layer thickness, and has been tested using FDM on an Ender 3 system. Removal of supports generated using the Cura slicer proved relatively straightforward, but some care needs to be take around the suspension and wheel covers.
The Ferret scout car (big wheels) was not exported as widely as the earlier variants, but it is still in use by several nations. It was replaced by the Fox armoured car in its scouting role in the British Army. I offer a model of the Fox in 1:76 scale on the thingiverse web site (https://www.thingiverse.com/), which should scale down to 1:100, though some parts may prove too thin to print without some modification.
