This collection will give you all the VF bunkers and beach obstacles needed to reconstruct the Normandy landing beaches and to protect the artillery batteries!


The VF bunkers (Verstärkt Feldmässig), which had a wall and roof thickness of up to 2 meters and were therefore not considered bomb-proof but only "shrapnel-proof", were deployed in the front line to defend the beaches and to cover the flanks and rear of larger bunkers.


They can be subdivided into two groups, namely the "VF" proper and the "Bauform". In general the VF denomination indicates the type while the bauform referred to variants which only had minor differences usually to make them suitable to a specific gun. In addition, different variations of VF models were designed, which were indicated by a letter after the number (For example: VF2a – VF2b – VF2c – VF2d) The A variant was the standard type and the later B variant was the same but equipped with thicker walls. The C variant was designed as "Wellblech" (round roof) and the D variant was usually the thicker walls version one of that. The most extreme case of this were the VF58 “Tobruk” Ringstands which were equipped with an armored turret. Several dozens different bauform existed of this, each designed to be adapted to a specific tank turret, including many captured ones and old obsolete models.
