Swedish S-tank (Strv103B and C)

Sweden has a long track record in the design of innovative and effective armoured vehicles.  The Swedish S-tank was a unique vehicle that used a fixed gun without a turret.  This concept was optimised to improve survivability in the defensive war that Sweden envisaged in the last half of the last century, and early into this century.  This is a detailed model of the two major variants of the S-tank, offered in forms suitable for fdm and resin printing.

The Swedish Stridsvagn 103 (or "S-Tank") was one of the most unusual tanks ever built. Designed to give good defensive firepower to enforce Sweden's armed neutrality, it's unique design came at a cost: it could not fire effectively on the move.  This concept was studies by several nations, but no export sales or imitations emerged.  It remains an attractive and thought-provoking design, but difficult to update with modern armour solutions.

Two versions of the S-tank are offered, the B and C variants, in forms suitable for printing in resin or fdm printers.  The designs for the former are fully integrated, but the tracks and hull are separate for the latter.  The designs offer accurate tracks and details, but should prove robust if used for wargaming.  Some care may be needed in printing the front armour bars on the C-version, however.

The product is offered for personal, non-commercial use.  Derivative designs for personal use may be generated, but neither the original nor derivatives may be shared with others.  Attribution of the design is requested should printed models be exhibited or otherwise shared.  Models printed from this design or derivatives may not be sold commercially.
