Carlisle Class Cruisers post-1938
The Carlisle Class light cruisers was part of the C class cruisers which were a class of 28 light cruisers of the Royal Navy and consisted of seven groups of sub-classes. The Carlisle Class was a group of 5 ships build during the first world war. Two ships were sunk in WW2.
Armament as build; five 6-inch guns, two 3-inch guns, two 2-punder guns and eight 21-inch torpedo-tubes (4 x 2) (This model is NOT included)
Armament post-1938: eight 4-inch guns (4 x 2), four 2-pdr guns (1 x 4) (This is the model provided; only Cairo, Carlisle and Calcutta had been modified.)
HMS Carlisle, survived WW2.
HMS Cairo, sunk by Italian submarine Axum, Aug 1942.
HMS Calcutta, sunk by air-attack during evacuation of Crete June 1941.
HMS Capetown, survived WW2.
HMS Colombo, survived WW2.
This set includes only the options for printing the Cairo, Carlisle and the Calcutta.
The models are provided in 1/1000 scale and are Resin print only.
1/1800 - resize to 55,56%
1/1200 - resize to 83,5%
There are a number of bases provided, text recessed and the text raised. I used the recessed version for FDM printed bases. Do not forget to also re-scale the bases if you print in 1/1200 or 1/1800 scale. Named bases provided for HMS Cairo, HMS Calcutta and HMS Carlisle ships and a base with class name.
Also included 1/1800 scale pre-support model which I used for the test-prints on my Anycubic Mono SE (0.05mm layer) using standard resin. Use at your own risk, might be best you create your own supported files, which prints best on you own printer. Some parts are rather delicate, mainly the gun barrels, and you will need to remove support carefully.
The flat-base was printed on an Ender 5 pro (0.16 mm layer) standard PLA. But could also be printed in Resin if you want, which will provide a better print compared to my PLA printed bases. (no supported file provided)
