ERC-90 Sagaie Armoured Car (France)
1:100 design of the ERC-90, in its Sagaie version, with both fdm and resin files made available. This vehicle was adopted by the French Army for its Rapid Reaction Force, as the AMX-10RC (also available as a design) proved to be too heavy.
The ERC 90 Sagaie is a 6x6 light armoured vehicle developed and manufactured from 1975 by the French Company Panhard. The company's AML 90 (see separate design available on this site)had done well on the world's markets, and demonstrated its capability in various African and other conflicts. On the basis of evaluation and the experience gained in all of these conflicts, and of the new requirements for wheeled armoured vehicles, Panhard felt it opportune to build a totally new combat vehicle. The French Army evaluated the ERC 90 F4 Sagaie between 1978-80, initially rejecting it in favour of the AMX-10RC (separate design available on this site), but accepted the vehicle in December 1980 although requiring further trials, including hot weather trials in Djibouti in 1982. Panhard defines the ERC 90 Sagaie as an armoured reconnaissance and anti-tank vehicle, with an accented capability to engage in combat with the vehicles of mechanized units and effect patrols and raids behind the enemy lines. It is lightly armoured, but with a powerful gun.
The resin versions are provided in both hollow and solid versions (the turret is common with the fdm version, and is in that file). Two LMGs are provided to drop into a slot in the turret, but these can be challenging to print on fdm technology.
The product is offered for personal, non-commercial use. Derivative designs for personal use may be generated, but neither the original nor derivatives may be shared with others. Attribution of the design is requested should printed models be exhibited or otherwise shared. Models printed from this design or derivatives may not be sold commercially.
