Deweycat Italian SPA TL 37 truck .stl pack
SPA TL 37
The Italian army is finally getting some long overdue love if not favourable rules in Bolt Action. One area the Italian Army list is a little scant in that of transport. The Army list provides for a generic “truck”, but this really does a disservice to the wide array of wheeled transports employed by the Italians. Their truck park had everything in it, from the almost comical OM Autocarretta to the Lancia 3 Ro heavy truck.
This .stl package represents the SPA TL37 light truck. This line of trucks was particularly well suited to the desert terrain of North Africa, with large wheels and a short wheelbase. In addition to its use as a transport, it was also served as a “gun truck”, with mounting of various weapons – such as 20 mm autocannons and 65 mm and 75 mm field guns.
This pack provides two hull options – the transport model with the front mounted pintle MMG mount, and a hull with the rear bed mounted 20mm Breda model auto cannon (which is an option in the Italian army list for a soft skin mounted light auto cannon).
.Stl files are provided for both FDM and resin printing. A driver figure is included, but while it may print in FDM, it is intended for resin printing. The pintle .stls included are each specific for the medium of choice; obviously the FDM .stl for the pintle is going to be a bit less detailed. The FDM .stls have been designed for maximum contact with the build plate.
The 20mm gun in the .stls packs is a basic model, which can be printed in either resin or FDM. The mounting also fits the more detailed Breda 20mm autocannon .stl print, which is sold separately at Wargaming 3d, ( https://www.wargaming3d.com/product/italian-breda-20-mm-gun-stl-pack/ ) and which includes a seated gunner. This can be switched back and both to the field mount of that model, as the 4 mm post mounting is common to both designs.
The package contains three folder; FDM, basic resin .stls and pre-supported resin .stls.
The FDM parts include an undercarriage part that snaps into recesses in the FDM hull. The FDM pintle MMG is a two part print, but its fit will be self explanatory.
The resin pre-supported .stls worked on my printer and resin settings, but may not be ideal for your own parameters.
In both FDM and resin prints, clean off supports carefully, and test fit before gluing parts.
