Coyote Reconnaissance AFV (Canada)
The Coyote has been in service in Canada since 1996 in the light reconnaissance scout role. This is a 1:100 detailed design with versions suitable for both resin and filament printing, and separate turret.
The Canadian Coyote Reconnaissance Vehicle is a non-amphibious armoured reconnaissance vehicle based on the design of the LAV-25 and the MOWAG Piranha II. 203 of the vehicles were ordered in 1993 to replace the tracked Lynx reconnaissance vehicle., and all were delivered and entered service by 1996. Three variants: the "Mast" variant with a mast-mounted surveillance system, a variant with a remote surveillance suite, and a basic reconnaissance/command post variant, which is modelled here (the variants can be made available if required). The vehicle is currently being replaced by the TAPV and LAV VI AFVs.
The Coyote mounts a 25×137mm M242 Bushmaster chain gun and two 7.62×51mm NATO GPMGs in an electrically driven turret. Dual ammunition feeds allow for separate weapons effects, selectable by the gunner/crew commander, supported by a laser range finder. The standard armour of the Coyote protects against small arms fire, anti-personnel mines, and shrapnel, with add-on armour kits able to protect against larger projectiles.
The model is a well detailed design, provided in two versions, one for resin printing, which is integrated with its wheels. Variants in both hollow and solid versions are provided to suit personal preferences. A second solid hull is provided without wheels for printing on fdm systems, with the wheels provided as a separate file. In both cases the turret is provided as a separate solid item.
The product is offered for personal, non-commercial use. Derivative designs for personal use may be generated, but neither the original nor derivatives may be shared with others. Attribution of the design is requested should printed models be exhibited or otherwise shared. Models printed from this design or derivatives may not be sold commercially.
