Brooklyn Class light Cruisers
The Brooklyn class cruisers were a class of 7 ships of the United States Navy. The Brooklyns carried a total of 5 triple 6-inch guns turrets, a total of 15 guns . More than any other standard USN cruiser.
The ships had hull no's. from CL-40 (Brooklyn) up to CL-48 (Honolulu) CL-45 was not a Brooklyn class cruiser and is not included.
The St.Louis (CL-49) and Helena (CL-50) are considered a sub-class of the Brooklyns, with improved AA, had a modified machinery layout, a different aft deck-house and the first US Cruisers to be armed with twin 5-inch (127mm)/38-cal guns. And are not included in this set but can be found here.
Three designs are included;
1940 - As build. With limited AA, 2 cranes for the boats and no radar.
1943 - Version A and version B. With extra AA, radar added and 1 crane removed. Minor difference of AA layout next to the aft deck-house between A and B. Version B is based on pictures from the Brooklyn.

The models are provided in 1/1000 scale and are Resin print only.

There are a number of bases provided, text recessed and the text raised. I used the recessed version for FDM printed bases. Finally a base without text is also included. Do not forget to also re-scale the bases if you print in 1/1200 or 1/1800 scale.
Bases provided for Brooklyn class and named bases for all ships in class.
Feb-2025 Bases with Waves added. To prepare the ships with an Ocean base, just import the required base and ship in your slicer, raise the ship to the correct water-level and save the file.
Also included 1/1800 scale pre-supported models which I used for the test-prints on my Anycubic Mono SE (0.05mm layer) using standard resin. Use at your own risk, might be best you create your own supported files, which prints best on you own printer. Some parts are rather delicate, mainly the gun barrels, and you will need to remove support carefully.
The base was printed on an Ender 5 pro (0.16 mm layer) standard PLA. But could also be printed in Resin if you want, which will provide a better print compared to my PLA printed bases. (no supported file provided)
The turrets and aft rangefinders are also provided as separate parts, this gives the option to glue the turrets in different orientations. Other reason was print orientation, adding support was difficult for the turrets (the guns-barrels) and rangefinders on the model.
