USS Langley (AV-3)

The USS Langley (AV-3) was a Seaplane tender of United States Navy. Commissioned as CV-1 in 1920 and was rebuild in 1937 to act as a Seaplane tender AV-3. She was part of ABDACOM naval force in 1942, in 27th February 1942, during a transport mission to deliver aircraft to the Dutct East Indies, the ship was attacked by Mitsubishi G$M Betty bombers of the IJN. Langley was hit a number of times and had to be scuttled to prevent falling into Japanese hands.

The USS Langley CV-1 is also available as a separate model or as a set of both versions with discount.

The model is provided in 1/1000 scale and are Resin print only. (FDM for the Base)

1/1800 – resize to 55,56%

1/1200 – resize to 83,5%

There are named bases provided. The base comes in 2 versions. Text recessed and the raised. I used the recessed version for FDM printed bases. Do not forget to also re-scale the bases if you print in 1/1200 or 1/1800 scale. A base without text is also provided.

Included 1/1800 scale pre-supported model which I used for the test-prints on my Anycubic Mono SE (0.05mm layer) using standard resin.  Use at your own risk, might be best you create your own supported files, which prints best on you own printer. Some parts are rather delicate, mainly the gun barrels, and you will need to remove support carefully.

The base was printed on an Ender 5 pro (0.16 mm layer) standard PLA. But feel free to print the bases on a resin printer, that will give you much better text on the base, but no supported files for the resin-printing of the bases are provided.
