Rifle Nest Timber reinforced. Low Profile. Jungle Leaves. 1:56 scale No 02 of 04 variants
Continuing my theme of the Pacific Theatre of Operations and my desire to provide my gaming friend’s with a very visual games board I realised I had not considered that the Imperial Japanese Army made extensive use of dug in and heavily defend tank and self-propelled guns..... "hang on a minute Mr Tank Commander Sir! it's time for the humble infantry soldier to get some cover and a place to brew his char, joe, tea fill in as appropriate".
The series of 4 emplacement offers an extremely well reinforced rifle nest capable of holding 4-5 figures in a crouched firing position.
The emplacement is approximately 95 mm by 80 mm and about 20mm high. This one has jungle leaves over it.
The internal area is flat and without detail suggesting the bottom is not seen.
My intention is for you to add your own converted infantry figures. I anticipate that you will to need to remove from the knee or mid-thigh downward on figures you decide to add to the emplacement.
If you have a resin printer then consider buying files from Studio Grozny who has an excellent range of Japanese and Australian figures. The figures shown in the screen shot come from their Japanese collection.
I have test printed the files and used a time saving 0.15mm layer height to print the models. I would recommend using 0.1mm layer height if you are printing them for yourself.
This model was designed by Neal Bowskill Copyright June 2022. These files may not be used to print for commercial gain.
