Merkava Mk2 (Israeli MBT)

This is a 1:100 detailed model of the Israeli Merkava Mk2 MBT, in versions suitable for resin or fdm printing.  The Merkava Mk2 was an upgrade to the first Merkava MBT, with improved protection and initial product enhancements.

The Merkava Mk 2 first production vehicles were completed in August 1983. Main improvements over the original production model include a layer of special armour on the front and sides of the turret,  and on the hull front.  The steel skirts that protect the suspension are backed by special armour. The  tank incorporated several upgrades as a result of the previous incursion into Lebanon, being optimized for urban warfare and low-intensity conflicts, with a weight no greater than the Mark 1, and the same automotive train.

This is a model of the vehicle at 1:100 scale in versions suitable for fdm and resin printing.  A common turret is provided, with a hollow version for resin printing if so desired.  Two small MG designs are provided, a 50cal to go over the main armament, and a 7.62mm for the loader.  These can be difficult to print and may require some effort.  The fdm version of the hull comes as a separate main hull and suspension/track units, the resin version is fully integrated.  Again, both solid and hollow versions of the integrated version are provided to suit individual preferences. A separate subassembly is provided to simulate the ball & chain rear turret lower armour.

The product is offered for personal, non-commercial use.  Derivative designs for personal use may be generated, but neither the original nor derivatives may be shared with others.  Attribution of the design is requested should printed models be exhibited or otherwise shared.  Models printed from this design or derivatives may not be sold commercially.
