FROG-7 (LUNA-M) Russian rocket launcher

The 9K52 Luna-M short-range artillery rocket system was designed in the late 1950s and deployed widely in several countries. The rocket has a range of around 70km, and a CEP of between 500 and 700m, indicating that it is relatively inaccurate. The 550kg warhead is capable of delivering HE, nuclear of chemical effects. The FROG rockets were mounted on a range of carriers including tracked PT-76 variants. However, this wheeled implementation appeared to be the most successful and widely used version. This model features a common body and wheel set, with options to add the launcher and stabilisers to depict the unit in firing or transport configuration. Some fitting of the wheels is likely ot be required, as FDM printing is not ideal for round axles.
The launcher is depicted in a single piece in travel configuration, but as a separate base, launching rail and support for the firing case. Assembly should be straightforward, with the rail to be glued onto the base in its natural position determined by the flat on the bottom end. The support should then be fixed in the appropriate position. Alternative front cabin covers are offered for the travel (glue horizontally on the front of the main unit) or firing (glue over the cabin front windows) case.
Different stabilisers are provided to represent the front and rear pair in the two configurations. The computer design drawings should provide sufficient guidance on the positioning and selection of these pairs.
The loading crane is provided as a separate part, which fits into the hole in the main chassis on the right hand side. It is depicted in stowed position.
