Dutch O-Class submarines (O-XII O-XVI and O-XIX classes)
The O 12 class was a class of 4 Submarines of the Royal Netherlands Navy used in the Dutch home waters.
The O 16 was a Submarine of the Royal Netherlands Navy.
The O 19 class was a class of 2 Submarine minelayers of the Royal Netherlands Navy designed for operations in European and colonial waters.
The models are provided in 1/1000 scale and are Resin print only.
1/1800 - resize to 55,56%
1/1200 - resize to 83,5%
There are a number of bases provided, text recessed and the text raised. I used the recessed version for FDM printed bases. Finally a base without text is also included. Do not forget to also re-scale the bases if you print in 1/1200 or 1/1800 scale.
Bases are provided per submarine class and named bases for each Submarine in the O11, O16 and O19 class.
Also included 1/1800 scale pre-supported models for each type which I used for the test-prints on my Anycubic Mono SE (0.05mm layer) using standard resin. Use at your own risk, might be best you create your own supported files, which prints best on you own printer. Some parts are rather delicate, mainly the gun barrels, and you will need to remove support carefully.
The base was printed on an Ender 5 pro (0.16 mm layer) standard PLA. But could also be printed in Resin if you want, which will provide a better print compared to my PLA printed bases. (no supported file provided)
- O 12 scuttled May 1940, raised by the Germans and commissioned as the UD-2 scuttled May 1945
- O 13 missing in action June 1940
- O 14 decommissioned June 1943 parts used for O 15. The Dutch crew was stationed on the HMS Sturgeon, which was renamed to Zeehond
- O 15 decommissioned September 1945
The O 16 was a Submarine of the Royal Netherlands Navy.
- O 16 struck by mine and Dec 1941 and sunk
The O 19 class was a class of 2 Submarine minelayers of the Royal Netherlands Navy designed for operations in European and colonial waters.
- O 19 (ex - K XIX), scuttled after stranding July 1945 (Scuttled with the help of USS Cod)
- O 20 (ex - K XX), depth-charged and scuttled Dec 1941
