Deweycat Train System Caboose - 28 mm scale
Train tracks and rolling stock add great visual spark to a gaming table and can be used as both as terrain and as objectives within a game scenario.
I was recently asked if I could expand the existing line of civilian rolling stock for the Deweycat 28mm scale railways system. The existing system has the locomotive, a passenger car, a box car, an open freight car and a flat car.
I have added a new cattle car and a caboose. Each comes with a removable roof and a separate coupling, allowing it to be easily connected and disconnected with any other car within any of the other parts of the system. These two files are sold separately.
There files were designed for FDM printing. There is no reason they couldn’t be printed in resin but are too large for my resin printer.
• Your results in FDM require fine settings, with full supports. For best results, print at 0.15mm layers.
• Always clean support material away carefully and test fit before gluing.

- When assembling the caboose, glue the main cabin onto the base, then dry fit the two end pieces and place the roof on top, the ladder of each end piece needs to nest in the recess on the roof. Once you have test fitted the pieces to your satisfaction, glue the bottom of the two end pieces to the base and hold the roof section, unglued, until the end sections dry. That way the roof will remain free to take off and place on as needed.
