CSS Richmond

Corrected Scale!

Constructed during the ironclad excitement following the Battle of Hampton Roads, CSS Richmond was laid down at Gosport Naval Shipyard almost the minute the battle was over. To escape Yankee forces capturing Norfolk and Hampton Roads, CSS Richmond was launched early and towed up the James to Richmond to be completed. Her career on the James River was fairly quiet until 1864, when she would partake in actions at Dutch Gap, Fort Harrison, and Chaffin's Bluff. Her most notable action would be in January 1865 when she and the rest of the James River Squadron would steam downriver and attack the Yankee ships at Trent's Reach. CSS Richmond would be destroyed along with the rest of the squadron to prevent capture as the Yankees moved to capture Richmond. The wreck of CSS Richmond remains in the James River near Drewery's Bluff.

This ship is modeled in 1/600 scale and can be printed using any resin or FDM printer. Ship comes with and without base.

When printing in FDM, some details may be too small to print with a stock 0.4mm nozzle.
