ASLAV Australian Light Armoured Vehicle

The Australian Light Armoured Vehicle (ASLAV), is an Australian version of the Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV-25).  This is a detailed 1:100 model of the reconnaissance version, offered in variants for resin and filament printers, with separate turret.

The Australian Light Armoured Vehicle (ASLAV), is an Australian version of the Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV-25) designed and manufactured by General Dynamics Land Systems Canada for the U.S. Marines. The initial design was the MOWAG Piranha 8x8, however the vehicle was re-designed to meet North American requirements and US military standards to make the LAV-25, then again to make the ASLAV. It is a highly mobile, eight wheeled amphibious armoured vehicle used for reconnaissance and surveillance operations.  ASLAVs have seen operational service with the Australian Army in East Timor, Iraq and Afghanistan.

The model is a well detailed design, provided in two versions, one for resin printing, which is integrated with its wheels.  Variants in both hollow and solid versions are provided to suit personal preferences. A second solid hull is provided without wheels for printing on fdm systems, with the wheels provided as a separate file.  A separate turret is provided to ease printing and permit rotation.

In further testing it has become clear that some of the handles on the model are not adequately fixed to the hull.  Updated versions of the hull files have been posted to address this deficiency.

The product is offered for personal, non-commercial use.  Derivative designs for personal use may be generated, but neither the original nor derivatives may be shared with others.  Attribution of the design is requested should printed models be exhibited or otherwise shared.  Models printed from this design or derivatives may not be sold commercially.
