DESCRIPTION Stug III A 1940
The Sturmgeschütz III (StuG III) assault gun was the military armored combat vehicle produced in greatest numbers by Germany during the Second World War. StuG III Ausf. A (Sd.Kfz 142; 1940, 30 copies produced). It was used for the first time during the Battle of France. It was built on the chassis of the Panzer III Ausf. F and equipped with the 75 mm StuK 37 L/24 cannon.
