Soviet 122-mm howitzer model 1910 /1930
Soviet 122-mm howitzer model 1910 /1930
The gun was obtained by upgrading the Russian 122-mm howitzer model of 1910 of the First World War, originally developed by the French arms company "Schneider". Until 1942, the 122-mm howitzer of the 1910/30 model was the most common in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army (Red Army). The howitzer took an active part in all the pre-war conflicts of the USSR, in the battles with the Japanese on the Khalkhin-Gol River and in the Soviet-Finnish war of 1939-1940. The 122-mm howitzer model 1910/30 was actively used throughout the war, although since 1942 its share in the troops has greatly decreased due to heavy losses and the mass arrival of new M-30 howitzers.
