Hr.Ms. Queen Wilhelmina - PC-468

Hr.Ms. Queen Wilhelmina was a personal gift from President Roosevelt to the Netherlands. Both the ship and the name of the ships are different from normal Dutch Navy ships, the name was proposed by President Roosevelt.

Original the PC-468, the ship was offered to the Dutch in 1942 and performed patrol duties in the Caribbean area as part of the Dutch navy. Although she never participated in spectacular navy actions, she did perform important convoy duties and survived WW2. She was gifted to Nigeria in 1965, renamed to NNS Ogoja and participated in actions against rebels during the Nigerian civil-war (1967 - 1970). In October 1969 she sunk in the Nigeriana coastal waters, cause unknown.

One 7,6cm Mk22 Canon, one 40mm Bofor, 5 x 20mm Oerlikon, 2 x 4 Mousetrap rocket projectors, 2 depth-charge-racks and two depth-charge-launchers.

The model can also be used as an USN Subchaser (PC-461 class). The tpe of ships has been used by many other navies.

The model is provided in 1/1000 scale and is Resin print only.

1/1800 – resize to 55,56%

1/1200 – resize to 83,5%

One base is provided for the Hr.Ms. Queen Wilhelmina. Do not forget to also re-scale the bases if you print in 1/1200 or 1/1800 scale.

Also included a 1/1800 scale pre-supported model which I used for the test-prints on my Anycubic Mono SE (0.05mm layer) using standard resin. Use at your own risk, might be best you create your own supported files, which prints best on you own printer. Some parts are rather delicate, mainly the gun barrels, and you will need to remove support carefully.

The base was printed on an Ender 5 pro (0.16 mm layer) standard PLA.
