Bolt Action Version 3 25mm Objective Markers
Version 3 has brought with it a lot of major changes to our favourite game. Other, smaller changes are buried in the syntax of the v. 3 rule book. One such change is the size of the objective markers for scenarios. The only scenario what denotes the actual size of an objective token is on page 162, “Key Positions”. The markers are to be 25mm round tokens. It is important to know who holds each objective, as once held, the player can leave the objective and still possess it until his opponent seizes it. In the Key Positions scenario, you could end up with seven (7) objectives on the table (D3 + 4 objectives).
Most of us have a collection of markers, and invariably they will all be larger than 25mm in size.
I designed this package, which allows for a series of markers as simple or as fancy as you wish.
The marker is a 25mm token with a slot. The Flag with a “?” slides in the slot for the start of the game. When an objective is seized, you can either insert a flag representing your faction (there is a flag for every nation reasonably expected to be seen on the table) or use the generic blank flag and have a set finished in two coloured (red and black in the pic) which represent each player.
These were all printed in FDM. I added the colours simply with coloured markers. If I were a more patient soul, I would have primed them to prevent colour bleeding, but they are good enough for me.
Please don’t message me to tell me that the dimensions of the bands in a particular flag are not historical; these items are just a game aid, and the download is free.
I hope others find them of use.
The test prints were done is FDM at .15mm layers.
Always clean support material away carefully .
